2020 kicked off with big exciting Texas fashion news. One of our very own, Lilliana Vazquez, was named as part of new hosting teams for E! channel’s morning show lineups. As a co-anchor of E! News Vasquez becomes the first – and only – Latina to ever hold that position in the show’s 30 year history.
Lilliana is a fellow Texan, born and raised in Fort Worth. Her father is Puerto Rican and her mother is Mexican mother, and like many of us, Vasquez has navigated the world as a first generation Latinx and has continued to give back by dedicating her efforts to community organizations.
She has continued to take us with her along her journey and always proud to represent her Texan roots.
Prior to E! News, Lilliana has slayed many red carpets, interviewing the biggest celebs for Access Hollywood. Over the last six years she also served as a fashion, entertainment & lifestyle correspondent for the NBC’s Today show.
E! also expanded their morning coverage and launched Pop of the Morning, where Vasquez was also part of the hosting trio, which also included Latinx personality, philanthropist and Super Bowl champion, Victor Cruz.
Cruz, a former wide receiver for the New York Giants — who is known for his killer fashion game — is part Latino. His father is African-American and his mother is Puerto Rican. During his time with the NFL, he helped bring visibility to the community as one of the few Latino players, and one who proudly showcased his cultural pride, including his signature salsa touchdown dance.
Victor, ALSO makes history as the first Afro-Latinx talent to host on any of the E! morning shows.
Felicidades to both! In the words of J Balvin “lessgoo Latino gang”
update: due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, all shows were canceled earlier this year
