There were some big weddings this year and so we just wanted to take a little wedding bell moment, to celebrate the bodas of some of our favorite Texas Latinx .
Mexican musical power couple. Two-time Grammy winner, singer-songwriter Lorenzo Mendez from El Paso, TX just got married to fellow singer – and one of our favorite Latinas – Chiquis Rivera! The couple had a private church ceremony, followed by a beautiful intimate reception up in the California mountains overlooking the valley skyline. As many of you know, Chiquis is part of música mexicana royalty, daughter of late singer, icon, “Diva de La Banda” Jenni Rivera. Due to the media buzz leading up to the wedding, the couple wanted to keep things private and not sell any photos or video to the paps, but instead, put together something special to share with their fans at a later date. Their wedding day was spent surrounded in the spirit of love, with their closest friends and family.

Texas Diamond Love. Houston Astros shortstop, Carlos Correa, married his reina. He famously proposed to girlfriend, Miss Texas 2016 Daniella Rodriguez, right after the Astros won the World Series in 2017. You can say these two were brought together by a diamond, baseball diamond that is! The pair met after Daniella threw out the first pitch at an Astros home game. They met for dinner and both say they instantly knew they had met their soulmate. Correa is originally from Puerto Rico and Daniella is a Tejana, originally from Laredo, TX, the happy couple now calls Houston home!

A Royal Celebration – One of the biggest weddings was earlier this year when, Dominican-American singer-songwriter from the Bronx, Prince Royce (whose real name is Geoffrey Royce Rojas) married a South Texas queen. Emeraude Toubia (born in Canada but raised in Brownsville,TX!) is a former Miss South Texas. Toubia is of Mexican and Lebanese heritage; a beauty queen turned actress, you may recognize her as Isabelle Lightwood from Shadowhunters.
Their love story was kismet, the two meet through mutual friends at dinner one night, Emeraude has joked in other interviews that Royce was actually intended to meet someone else but she (Emeraude) arrived there first!
The rest is history, and eight years later the longtime lovebirds made it official. They had a private civil service and then had a big traditional wedding in Emeraude’s beloved México, where the couple flew 108 guest to San Miguel de Allende, rented out villas, and had a complete week-long Mexican wedding celebration filled with love, friends and family.
