In case you weren’t watching the VMAs last night, don’t worry no pasa nada, we got you covered.
Cardi B wins Best Hip Hop video for “Money” and we loved her acceptance speech, she kept it 100 % thanking her team for editing her cellulite out of the videos etc,…VIVA CARDI!!!
One of our favorite Latina stars, Camila Cabello – who became the first Latina artist to open the Grammys earlier this year – performed “Señorita,” a duet with Shawn Mendes
J Balvin – shout out to the Latino Gang – and Bad Bunny brought their eclectic original style to their performance of “Qué Pretendes,” which is the latest hit off their collab album, Oasis
Rosalia won 2 moon men, including the award for “Best Latin” VMA for “Con Altura” but she’s not Latina, she’s from Spain so she is Spanish or Hispanic/Spanish speaking. However, J Balvin won the award with her and he is Latino so there’s that.
This was also a debut for J Balvin at the VMAs, at previous award shows J Balvin has always been vocal about supporting Latino issues and this time around he made sure to acknowledge the devastating crisis that is happening in the Amazon. This is just one of the many reasons we love him.
Global Reggaeton superstar Ozuna, also made his VMAs debut during his portion of Rosalía’s performance
